Peterborough County council has voted to pass a motion calling for stronger protections for Ontario in trade negotiations, the removal of interprovincial trade barriers, and policies that prioritize Canadian businesses in municipal procurement. ​​The Government of Canada: Last week, the Committee on Internal trade met last week to discuss eliminating regulatory trade barriers. With last year totaling more than $530 billion worth of goods and services moved across the provinces and territories, it is now imperative that Canada works to eliminate regulatory barriers amid tariff threats from the United States.
