Peterborough Chamber is a Finalist in the National Chamber Competition for the Second Year in a Row

Peterborough, ON, September 11, 2017: The Canadian Chamber of Commerce has announced the five finalists for the 2017 Canadian Chamber Competition:

• Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce
• Greater Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce
• Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce
• Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce
• Oakville Chamber of Commerce

Each year members of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce gather for their Annual General Meeting, the 2017 meeting is taking place in Fredericton, New Brunswick September 22-25. As part of the AGM the Canadian Chamber holds a competition based on a relevant theme. This year the theme was “Storytelling through Video”. The aim of the competition is to profile chambers of commerce that are innovative in their approach, particularly as it pertains to the theme.

The Peterborough Chamber of Commerce submission titled “The Amazing Things That Happened When We Said Yes to Video” details how the addition of video for our #lovelocalptbo sponsors has allowed us to effectively tell the story of these members and what it means to be a local business and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

“Our members drive us, and channeling the collective strength of the business community gives us a focused voice on a variety of issues. Apart from the lobbying work we do, helping our members grow helps the local economy,” Stuart Harrison, President and CEO Peterborough Chamber of Commerce.

The Peterborough Chamber submission also highlighted how staff use video to welcome new members and recognize member milestones through the ChamberLIVE videos on Facebook and breaking down the advocacy issues of the day with the Voice of Business videos.
